I think you should know about this man. After all, he changed your life!
by Terry inwilliam miller.
do you know how important this man has been to your life?.
do you know your life would have been entirely different (without a doubt) had he not lived?.

Yes, Finkelstein, I meant both 1844 and 1874.

I'm not quite ready to close the casket lid over William Miller as there are a few more details that haven't been disclosed in this thread.
Watch Tower didn't stop their endearment to William Miller till c. 1926, the last reference to Father Miller (not simply Brother Miller). His prophecy of 1944 continued to be significant in early Watch Tower doctrine. The 30 years from then till 1974 was viewed as the antitypical period between John the Baptist and the messiah.
Len Miller (no relation to William)

Yes, 1928, when 1914 replaced 1874 as the goto date, establishment of the kingdom. 1914 then replaced 1799 as the beginning of the end.

A thread began some 10 years ago when our friend Atlantis made a PDF available of JWs modern history book.
Yes, that book is available on my 2015 Library CD but only certain chapters. Naturally, WT eliminated certain entire chapters and you can only guess why. In my case of research I needed that graphic where they editorially tore off the top of a magazine that showed a headline, "END OF ALL KINGDOMS IN 1914” -- which was exactly what Watchtower had predicted 25 years prior to 1914 in 1889.
That 10 year old thread, with dead hyperlinks, is here:

I think I'm missing something again. Why do we care if they have 'records' on us?
I don't care as I've been out for 41 years. However, if my simply making a request for my records will impose a financial burden / hardship on this borganization, I'm probably going to do it. Multiply my request times thousands of others making their request and they're going to be in a world of financial hurt.
If I, in fact, get a copy of my information I will then be inclined to post it here. It will be interesting to find out the reason for my df as they never called me or notified me via postal service. I learned about it via one of my sons.

Here's a puzzling set of numbers I found in the Jan 15 issue of WT. You will see scans of the election results for society's officers. I took the few minutes to tally the numbers of voters to the sum of 1,142,980.
Here's where my ignorance shines through. I thought WT membership was in the realm of some 25,000 to 50,000 at that time. Therefore, that sum of more than one million who voted for the officers appears strange. Any thoughts?
